Femdom = Female Dominance

"Femdom" is a term that is often misinterpreted, especially in the German-speaking world. Some dominatrix blogs claim that femdom is another word for dominatrix. This is completely wrong! And I would like to clarify this here with this article:

"Femdom" is not a person, but a way of performing BDSM.

Femdom is the name of the area within BDSM where a woman is the performing dominant person (also referred to as "top"), hence the origin of the term: it is an abbreviation of the English "Female Dominance" = Femdom. The domina (short for "dominatrix") is a professional service provider who carries out femdom activities. But also in the private sphere, either specifically only during sexual activities or more extensively during the whole relationship (FLR, Female Led Relationship), a dominant partner, the Domme, can practice femdom.

The submissive finds it arousing to relinquish control and submit to the partner's wishes. This can take sex life and mutual trust to a whole new level. The dominant partner enjoys the empowering experience of having complete control over her submissive.
